I started with Luby’s in 2008 and I love being around people and bringing joy to them. When I cook something, I want people to feel like they were a kid again, when Mom cooked it. I want them to get that memory back and feel what we are cooking from the bottom of their soul.

As a leader, I love helping people, teaching them to be the best they can be, and drawing out the gifts I see in others. I am still learning as I go, and becoming a General Manager has been a journey of growing into the person I know I can be.

The feeling I love most is knowing I helped somebody. Years later, when someone comes back and says, “I learned this from Miss Torri. She taught me this,” those are my flowers. Knowing I did something that changed somebody else’s life means everything to me.

Outside of Luby’s, I love spending time with my family, decorating, gardening, organizing things, and really anything pretty. I love learning new things and learning about other people. It is all part of the journey I am on.
