Pay Philosophy
Luby’s believes that rewarding employees is vital to keeping our company successful. Accordingly, we’ve designed a compensation program that supports continued growth for you and Luby’s. The goal of our philosophy is threefold:
- To align compensation with business strategies
- To reward managers for excellence in financial performance
- To attract and retain the best talent in the restaurant industry
- Four-year college degree (preferred)
If you are accepted into the Luby’s Institute of Higher Learning, you can expect an excellent income for your level of responsibility. By applying skills learned throughout the program, participants can set their own pace for advancement.
Compensation
Manager in Training/Assistant Manager – Competitive salary based on skills, experience, and education. Regular performance evaluations provide potential for merit increases.
Pay range: $33,000-$45,000
Associate Manager/General Manager - As the top members of restaurant management, Associates and GM’s are rewarded based on how their restaurants perform financially. Salary is supplemented by a payout based on the restaurant’s controllable profit margin.
Pay range:
Associate Managers - $38,000 to $65,000
General Managers - $65,000 to $170,000

- Vacations – Management employees are eligible for 12 days of paid time
off
after one year with Luby’s and 17 days of paid time off after five years.
